The collection is Nicolas Ghesquière’s tribute to Louis Vuitton’s rich history of luggage and handbagdesign. In this collection you’ll find adorable mini monograms, stark red leather and pale pink leather too.
Prices will range from around $810 for the Speedy and Noe, $1,060 for the Turenne to $1,110 for the Pallas and Epi Alma. Slated to launch in July, the collection will surely be a hit with collectors and we’re sure that it will sell out before you know it so be prepared!
Louis Vuitton Capucines BBOne of the reasons why LV’s Capucines bags are so popular is their sheer simplicity and timelessness. The bag’s subtle, soft colors and minimaliststyle have attracted legions of fans. Once again showing their adeptness at maintaining the freshness of a classic, Louis Vuitton has taken the design up a notch by adding contrasting trims to some of the bags.
The bag gets a subtle makeover through the additions of vibrant, color contrast piping, edge painting, and interior, making it more covetable than ever. The black and taupe bags get bright pink trims making them youthful and smart picks. But our favorite is the powder blue bag whose vivid orange trims add a sweet sense of whimsy to the otherwise prim bag.
As usual Capucines MM bags are priced at $5,600 while the smaller BB bags are priced at $4,400.
Louis Vuitton will be launching their Nano Bag Collection for their iconic handbags. This nano collection is part of the brand’s Fall/Winter 2015 Collection and will feature the Speedy, Alma, Lockit, Noé, Pallas, Turenne and W Bags. The miniature bags include long leather straps for shoulder use. The Speedy and Noe bags are expected to be priced at $810.00 USD, Turenne at $1,060.00 USD and Pallas and Epi Alma at $1,110.00 USD a piece. The Nano Collection is expected to hit stores sometime in July.
A whole lot of LV gets a whole lot pricier. No need to bid your LV love goodbye just yet though. Because the handbags are also about to get a whole lot haute-er! The brand may can canvas in favor of leather luxe-d decadence. Which means that ‘designer’ will soon equal ‘deeper pockets’ and elevated elegance.
After decades doused in canvas charisma, Louis Vuitton’s monogrammed canvas companions seem to have lost to leather. The success of the new W and Capucines purses seems to have sparked a high-end-tote chain reaction. Not only did the totes star alongside Michelle Williams in a glamorous campaign but their respective $3,380 and $4,730 saw several takers. Yet Vuitton finds itself underperforming compared to the Givenchys and Célines. LVMH CFO Jean-Jacques Guiony announced in a conference call that the company is beginning a shift toward higher priced accessories with higher quality materials (read: NOT canvas). Clearly an attempt to bag bigger buyers!
If fashion were F1, Vuitton’s canvas totes would be the Fernando Alonsos of the day. Or not. Still, they certainly wouldn’t be out of the race. For now, lets just say it’s stock-up or save-up because they seem to have gone the Schumacher way.
