Louis Vuitton Alma Bag

Louis Vuitton News

CHECK OUT PRICE INFORMATION, SIZE COMPARISONS AND MORE ON ONE OF THE WORLD’S MOST ICONIC HANDBAG.

Even if you’re new to high-end accessories, the Louis Vuitton Alma Bag probably looks familiar to you. Not only is it one of LV’s icons, but its signature domed shape is one of the most important designs in modern handbag history. The day version of the Alma as we know it was first commissioned from Vuitton by Coco Chanel as a one-off piece based on the larger travel bag of a similar shape, and soon after the Alma handbag went into production in the 1930s.

Since then, Louis Vuitton has made countless versions, sizes, colors and structures of the Alma, which can make it a little difficult to tell what’s currently available and how much it costs. Below, we’ve assembled Louis Vuitton’s lineup of currently available bags, including size comparisons, price information, modeling shots and the materials you can commonly expect to find.

LOUIS VUITTON POPINCOURT BAG

Louis Vuitton News

Louis-Vuitton-Popincourt-Bag-zwart

Remember this bag? The Popincourt Bag? It’s back and has been modernized with a new trendy attitude. For those that are not familiar with Louis Vuitton classic handbags, the Popincourt was introduced some time ago, but was discontinued afterwards (around 2009 – 2010). This bag is still loved and carried by many fashion obsessed as it’s easy to carry, but roomy enough to store everything you need

While the original edition was released in the popular Monogram Canvas, the newest edition is added with natural leather trims. The size has also been updated as it’s bigger than the old mini vision. The style has been modernized and is now as chic as it can be. Besides the famous monogram canvas print, the edges as well as the top handles are added with fresh colors. This color creates an interesting contrast and it highlights the bag to make it more attractive. To make it more elegant, Louis Vuitton added an extra pocket with padlock. It also comes with a colorful tag and keybell. The added leather strap with collar studs can be used for shoulder carry or cross body and it can be adjusted or removed.

The design is pretty, but the functionality is flawless as well. Besides the front zip pocket, the exterior also comes with 2 large pockets for instant-access. The bottom features 4 studs so you can drop your bag without much worry.

The interior is made with a flat pocket and 2 smartphone pockets. It’s refined with shiny gold metal hardware too. The latest Popincourt Bag is perfect for the busy woman who needs to structure her stuff, but don’t need an oversized handbag. And now for the details:

Louis Vuitton Popincourt PM Bag
Size: 12.6’ x 8.3’ x 5.1’ (L x H x W) inches

Louis Vuitton Popincourt MM Bag

Fall-Winter 2017 Mens Louis Vuitton

Louis Vuitton News

IMAGE: LOUIS VUITTON

I’ll be honest, this should have been a new post that focussed on the upcoming #LVxSupreme pieces that’s part of the FW/17, but with Louis Vuitton playing coy with anything related to that much-anticipated collaboration between the French luxury house and streetwear giant Supreme, here’s everything else from the Fall-Winter 2017 Mens Louis Vuitton collection instead.

IMAGE: LOUIS VUITTON

Don’t get me wrong – the rest of the collection isn’t shabby at all, with most everything from bags and SLGs to shoes and accessories beautifully thought out by the man who can do no wrong, Kim Jones. And speaking of accessories, first let us savour the DJ turnable that comes in its very own Monogram Macassar trunk. If I have the money/skills/space, this would be it.

IMAGE: LOUIS VUITTON

Next we’ve got part of the collection that’s mostly in browns, from the backpack I love (Christopher PM) in mixed materials that’s part-Monogram Canvas and part-Epi in a variety of gorgeous earth tones. Then there is the massive Monogram Initials bag made solely for the use of storing (and transporting) vinyl records, along with a smattering of SLGs from the same line. Why Monogram Initials? Because the initials (in black leather) are literally stitched onto the Monogram Canvas surface for a look that’s truly graphic. And because this FW17 collection is big on mixed materials, you’ll even find pieces like the belt that comes with Monogram Canvas on the outside and Epi on the inside.

IMAGE: LOUIS VUITTON

If Monogram Canvas isn’t your thing, here are some of the mostly-Epi bag and SLGs that you’ll find from F/W17, from the sling bag that’s mostly Epi on the front and trimmed with Monogram Eclipse on the side to a dash of SLGs in the same finish. You’ll also find more belts, scarves and of course, another set of pins that will rival even the #LVxFragment ones.

As usual, no word yet on their exact release dates (or prices in SGD) so expect more updates soon. On these and hopefully on the Supreme pieces.

Louis Vuitton Epi Denim Clery & Speedy25

Louis Vuitton News

IMAGE: LOUIS VUITTON

Hello, it’s me doing my broken recorder spiel once again. Regarding what, you ask? Well, I said this once before, and I’ll say it again. Every time you walk into any Louis Vuitton you’ll be sure to spot something new as far as bags are concerned, and one could say they put out new styles faster than it takes rabbits to reproduce. Which isn’t necessarily a bad thing if you’re always on a lookout for something new as far as your bag wardrobe is concerned.

Having stepped into Louis Vuitton just the other day, I’m happy to report that this is still true, and besides the tried-and-tested icons placed prominently at all corners of the boutique (why hello there Monogram Canvas Speedy, long time no see Epi Alma), there were new bags I’ve never seen, including the subject of today’s post, the Clery, and the iconic Speedy25 in a new ‘skin’.

First up, we’ve got the Clery, which is completely new to me. Measuring some 23 cm across by 17 cm in height, it resembles a shrunken briefcase, what with its flat top handle that can extended upwards (or pushed flat down), its front fold-over flap that opens into a rather roomy interior complete with designated card slots.

Available in 4 other different Epi colours besides the one in Epi Denimthat’s shown above, the SGD2330 bag will make a great weekend companion, with or without its removable shoulder sling that’s length-adjustable.

The next bag, the Speedy25 Bandouliere definitely needs no explanation. An icon in its own right, it’s the fact that it now comes in Epi Denim that’s pretty amazing, like the Epi Speedy bags of the 90s sans sling. Priced at SGD2990 (it is leather after all, and not coated canvas), you’ll find both bags now at Louis Vuitton boutiques islandwide.

Louis Vuitton Damier Azur Summer 2017 Collection

Louis Vuitton News

IMAGE: LOUIS VUITTON

If you’re not a fan of #LVxFragment, #LVxKoons or even #LVxSupreme, then how about some summer-loving in the form of the Louis Vuitton’s annual capsule collection of the season, the Damier Azur Summer 2017collection? And while it isn’t as extensive as the previous 3 collab collections I just mentioned, it is still pretty decent, with 13 different pieces in all up for grabs.

Perfect for the #beachlyfe whether you’re on Saint-Tropez, St. Barts or Sentosa (sorry, I couldn’t resist), there are a total of 4 bags, 4 SLGs, 3 styles of cashmeres and silks, a sneaker and a timepiece, which also means you can pretty much do a head-to-toe, though honestly I wouldn’t advise it. First up, the bags, which will include the Neverfull MM(SGD2110) and Nano Noe (SGD1510), both of which are presented above.

IMAGE: LOUIS VUITTON

For those looking for something more substantial, there’s the Keepall50(SGD3100), but if you want something smaller, the collection also includes the Speedy30 Bandouliere (SGD2330), which is basically a Speedythat measures 30 cm across and comes with a sling. As far as the SLGs go, there’s a Mini Pochette Accessories (SGD550), Toiletry Pouch 26 (SGD645), Zippy Coin Purse (SGD600) with the Bag Charm & Key Holder (SGD305) rounding up the selection.

Now available at Louis Vuitton boutiques across the island in Singapore, head down soon, grab a few pieces and you’re all set for #beachlyfe, even if it is just on Sentosa.

Louis Vuitton x Fragment Cabas Light Collection

Louis Vuitton News

IMAGES: LOUIS VUITTON

Why Louis Vuitton didn’t launch them earlier still escapes me, but the Cabas Light bags, from the recently launched limited edition Louis Vuitton x Fragment collection, are officially my new favourite bags from the French luxury house. Created in collaboration with Fragment’s Hiroshi Fujiwara, it’s many things most boys will appreciate, from its massive size (50 cm by 50 cm by 16 cm) to the fact that it is extremely lightweight.

IMAGE: LOUIS VUITTON

Topped with a pair of handles long enough to drape the tote comfortably over the shoulder, open the drawstring closure and reach into its textile-lined interior for the removable canvas pouch that comes with the bag. Available in Monogram Canvas (sorry guys, this one is a Japan-only exclusive), Monogram Eclipse (the one I want) and finally one more in a black textile fabric, the icing on this cult favourite cake has got to be those 4 magic words on the front of the bag, namely Louis Vuitton Fragment Tokyo.

Priced at SGD2860, both the ones in Monogram Eclipse and the black fabric textile are currently OOS, but I’ve also been told that daily replenishments are still happening at the #LVxFragment pop-up at Surrender’s 268 Orchard Road flagship that will end on 7 May 2017. Yes folks, use this long weekend and head on down because you’ll never know if you’ll get lucky and finally get the limited edition piece of your dreams.
