LOUIS VUITTON CAPUCINES BAG: TWO FACES
In our last post, we showed the fall ad campaign where Michelle Williams was carrying the brand-new W bag, with sophisticated print options and a bold colored V form crossing in the center. The public’s opinion we found were rather controversial. Monogram doesn’t seems to be everyone’s favorite choice. But no need to look back, here’s something to compensate. Introducing from the F/W 2013 Collection, the Louis Vuitton Capucines bag. LV has re-activated their minimalism inspiration.
First, the name itself is a ‘legend’. Capucines is taken from the street where Louis Vuitton started their first store back in 1854. The name of the street? Rue Des Capucines in Paris. There will be no disappointment when you fully understand how cleverly the design is created; the bag has actually two-faces and can be worn in two ways; the front flap can be hidden inside and it will show the LV initials. The initials are another creation that I love and admire, because it looks like it has been born out from the leather. The second face is when the flap is shown in the exterior, revealing its monogram flower, but also taking away a piece of the minimalistic style I love.

Showing The Monogram Flower
Only by zooming in the details will reveal its true beauty, like the jewel-like rings connecting to the semi-rigid handle, giving it another touch of trés chic appeal. And the specially tailored functional shape, cut-out from Taurillon leather, giving it a luxurious feel and roomy space.
Two sizes are available at your fingertips, in MM or GM. The price difference is minimum, for the MM $5,150 and the GM cost $5,600. Louis Vuitton Capucines’s high ticket is thanks to the expensive and smooth leather that has been integrated and the breath-taking clever design. And I love colors as much as I love candies. This bag is available in a many of shades; Pomme, Clementine, Taupe, Capucine, Orcre, Blue Canard, Quetsche, Blanc Casse, Black, Purple. Which one is your favorite?
It’s no surprise that this bag has been sold-out very quickly on Louis Vuitton e-store. I am sure the SA would love to show you a brand-new piece if you take your time to visit their boutique.

LOUIS VUITTON CROCODILE CAPUCINES BAG
Well, here’s something to drool on…
We know for the fact that the Louis Vuitton Capucines totes have become exceptionally popular since its first release in the Fall Winter 2013 collection. But that’s not surprising at all, who can resist a fashion piece that’s linked to the history of a giant luxury brand like Louis Vuitton? Rue Des ‘Capucines’ is the name of the street where this brand has established its first store in 1854. That’s a long time ago and for this reason Louis Vuitton have poured everything into it, to make it as classic as possible.
Rendered in rare and precious Crocodile skin, Capucines combines refined details, including semi-rigid handle for hand, elbow or shoulder carry secured by jewel-like shiny golden brass rings, with a spacious and functional shape. Its distinctive flap can be worn in two ways: outside to reveal the outline of a quatrefoil clover Monogram flower or inside to show the LV initials. Inside the bag is lined in supple goatskin leather and features two large interior compartments, a zippered pocket and a flat pocket.
Selected from the finest crocodile leather and embellished to make it timeless and most luxurious. So rare that only a small selected Louis Vuitton boutique stores them and refined with a shiny gold brass rings that’s connected to the semi-rigid handle. One thing I am certain; fragrantly expensive, but worth every penny.
The best from both worlds; effortless and flexible, roll the flap inwards to flaunt the LV initials or move the flap outwards to show the monogram flower. One bag with two designs or two faces. The interior is enriched with goatskin and you will find two interior compartments and a zippered pocket in the interior.
Got love for this bag? We can give you more information; available in two sizes:
Louis Vuitton Capucines in Crocodile Bag in MM: 14.2″ x 9.1″ x 5.5″
Louis Vuitton Capucines in Crocodile Bag in GM: 15.7″ x 10.6″ x 6.3″
The price is around $50,000 USD/ €36.000 EUR, is it worth your credit card?
LOUIS VUITTON CAPUCINES BB TOTE
In the name of mini bags, we are here to proudly announce, the super-cute Louis Vuitton Capucines BB tote.
Apparently it’s too small to be sold on the internet as you can only order by visiting your local boutique. But that’s okay, I need to do some exercises anyway and on my journey to the store, I can put my sunglasses on and enjoy some sunlight.
First some facts; the Louis Vuitton Capucines Tote was first introduced in fall 2013, it was featured in the ad campaign with Michelle Williams. The monogram version was a no-no for most of us, we wanted to see more than that. So LV decided to bring some single colors to the party and they are damn gorgeous.
The Louis Vuitton Capucines tote is a legendary bag, the name itself is inspired by the street where Louis Vuitton started their first store in the year 1854. The exact street was Rue Des Capucines in Paris. This tote is also called a two-face bag, because you can either flip the flap on the inside to enjoy the bold colored LV initial crossing in the center, which I belief is more elegant and chic, or you can move it to the outside to reveal its monogram flower.
Now finally in the BB size, the shorty fashionista can add another classic to their wardrobe. It’s finished with shiny silver palladium accents, the mini size also comes with a removable long shoulder strap for the casual shoulder or cross-body wear.
Measuring 7.9 x 10.6 x 3.5 inches (W x H x D), crafted from full-grain Taurillon leather. The interior is enriched with 1 flat pocket, 1 zipped pocket and 2 large compartments open it with a snap hook closure. At Louis Vuitton boutique or e-store for $4,400 USD / €2990 euro / £2480 GBP.
It's an interesting time to be in the ultra-luxury business because no one really knows where the top of the market is. In a climate when a pre-owned Birkin can break records by selling at auction for well into the six figures, there's a seemingly insatiable thirst for novelty and rarity among the world's super rich.
There are relatively few brands in a position to sate that thirst, but those who can have been publicly offering ever more exotics over the past few seasons. The most notable exotic push in recent memory, though, is the one Louis Vuitton is making right now, and many of the bags have recently become available for perusal, including price information, on the brand's website. That is a shift in course in and of itself; for years, the brand kept its most expensive bags off general consumer radar.
Doing more top-tier leather goods has been a stated goal of LV's for some time now, and the bags below seem to represent the logical extreme of that strategy. They range in prices from a little over $7,000 to $50,000, with several priced above $40,000. If you had that much to spend on a bag, would these make your list?
